Are We Considered Disney Adults?

I have a serious question: are we Disney Adults? Hear me out. As of 2024, I (Caitlin) thought Disneyland was just for kids. You know, the kind of place where parents bring their little ones to meet Mickey and Minnie and ride on teacups. Disneyland had always been a distant memory for me. The last time I went, I was three years old, and my only “memory” is sitting in a stroller, watching my sister have the time of her life on Splash Mountain.

Fast forward to last spring. Connor and I decided it was finally time to experience the magic as adults—and because we like to do things big, we invited our siblings to join us for spring break. Check out the cheapest deals here TICKETS!

From the moment we stepped into Disneyland in California, I realized how much I’d severely underestimated it. The sheer amount of wonderful chaos is something I could have never imagined. It was amazing. We planned out four days for the trip: three at Disneyland and one at California Adventure. No park hopper, just fully immersing ourselves in one park at a time. The first two days of the trip were just us and Connor’s brother and boy did we do everything. I swear we must have ridden every ride in the park by noon the first day. After much debate, we all agreed that our top three favorite rides were: 1) Indiana Jones 2) Star Wars and 3) Space Mountain (not necessarily in that order; depending on who you asked).

Day three of our trip took us to the California Adventure side. Oh, and we added a person to our gang—my sister! Unfortunately, we started the day with a bit of a heart break, the Incredicoster was closed (I was seriously looking forward to that one!). To make up for it, we hit Grizzly Rapids as many times as we could. Getting absolutely soaked every single time. I also really enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, even though it wasn’t a crowd favorite—way too many height-related fears in our group (lame). Overall, we loved California Adventure, but I’d say one full day there was enough to see and do everything we wanted to.

We spent our last day back at Disneyland. Although this was our fourth day and we were completely pooped, we were determined to squeeze as much out of this park as we could. We tried all the food we could, hopped on every ride that was available, and even made time to take pictures with the characters we saw. We ended the night in the best way possible—with a light show on the castle!

Overall, this trip was one of the most exhausting and amazing experiences I’ve ever had. We were hooked! So much so that when we planned our trip to Japan later that year, Tokyo Disney became a must-do on our itinerary. (I know, call us crazy.) You can read all about our time there in our “Exploring Japan: A Two-Week Adventure” blog—spoiler alert: we had just as much fun there.

So, the only question left to ask is: are we considered Disney Adults now? I’d like to think we’re just a couple of people who occasionally enjoy a little Disney trip. I don’t know, but one thing is for sure—whether in California, Tokyo, or anywhere else in the world, we are definitely making time to go to Disneyland again.

Yes, you are Disney adults…. welcome! Looks so fun. You have a few more Disneys to hit- Euro Disney, Disney World, Shanghai Disney and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Definitely to fully enjoy Disney, you need to embrace your inner kid… and it looks like Connor and you are good at that!!!
